Unique Approach to New Health Benefits Company: The HeartSTONE Group

Posted on 09/30/08

The HeartSTONE Group Logo  September 30, 2008, Bordentown, NJ -- Primepoint, a payroll processing and HRIS technology company, has formed a new employee benefits company called the HeartSTONE Group.  As a technology company, Primepoint is focused on utilizing its experience with payroll-processing technology (and payroll-processing operations) to integrate other employee related business services.  The HeartSTONE Group will concentrate on group health benefits and Primepoint will continue to create technology that will streamline the administrative aspects of the enrollment and ongoing maintenance involved in benefits processing.  The end result for employers will be reduced costs and a better experience for their employees.

Primepoint has partnered with employee group benefit agencies in the past and will continue to do so even though it has created its own agency in the HeartSTONE Group.  Primepoint believes that by creating ways to integrate the HeartSTONE Group’s customers’ needs with payroll processing and HRIS solutions, it will enhance what it has to offer to other group benefit agencies that it partners with now and in the future.  An example of an enhancement that Primepoint brings to its partners is the ability to more easily produce employee total compensation and benefit statements, often referred to as total rewards statements.  Using traditional methods it is difficult to gather and organize the information needed.  As a result, many companies don’t provide employees with the statements, and those that do only manage to produce them once per year. Often the information included is 6 or more months old.  Using Primepoint’s integrated technology, the HeartSTONE Group and other Primepoint partners, will be able to offer their customers the ability to issue these statements with current information and on a more frequent schedule.

Alex Bothwell, Primepoint CEO said “What we’re doing is connecting payroll processing activities and employee benefits activities through technology.  That integration will create efficiencies that are going to do two things.  Costs will be lowered for the employer, and the employees will get an improved employee experience.”

Primepoint has hired several experienced professionals to spearhead the development of the HeartSTONE Group.  William Borton and Michael Burkitt will lead business development and Colleen Patterson will lead operations.
